Elizabeth Twining Passivhaus Almshouses, Richmond
CLIENT The Richmond Charities
DATES Completed December 2024
This proposal, on behalf of The Richmond Charities, is for bespoke, over 65s, accommodation in the form of five, contemporary, one bedroom almshouses, to replace the existing garages behind the properties on St Mary’s Grove.
The new dwellings are single storey to mitigate any visual impact, allowing ease of accessibility for the future residents. All windows face into the site, looking across new communal landscaped gardens and small patio courtyards.
They are a mix of four full wheelchair use dwellings and one accessible/adaptable dwelling, designed to Passivhaus standards.
