An energy efficient affordable demonstration house for Richmond Housing Partnership.

Prefabricated timber panels with recycled newspaper insulation achieve low u-values (0.14 walls, 0.11 roof) and reduce losses through unintentional leakage. An air source heat pump drives a wet underfloor heating system and, combined with mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR), alleviates the need for a traditional heating system. Rainwater is collected from the roof and used to flush the toilets and water the garden.
