The Community Centre was the final element of a neighbourhood centre for a 1200 dwelling new development. The brief was developed by Clive Chapman Architects with a working party of residents and potential users with whom we visited many similar community buildings in the district. The user groups ranged from the elderly, local clubs and committees, to youth clubs, sports clubs and children's play. It is run by the local community and let out for private wedding parties and functions. The building forms a public 'square' to the South, and borders a new local park to the East.
