Working in association with town planning consultants Cunnane Stratton Reynolds, we produced Town Renewal scheme guidelines for six towns for Cavan and Monaghan County Councils under the Ireland Town Renewal Scheme 1999. From a short list of nine towns an objective assessment was carried out on the respective merits of each, resulting in selecting the six most deserving towns for need and potential for development. The proposals also highlighted the innate character of each town, and identified buildings and streetscape merit which were worthy of restoration and urban renewal.
